New release — Refusing to Live in Black & WhiteOrder now →

We found Kabir Sir almost by accident, at a dance studio in Delhi.

We took the metro there, the two of us, worked up about it the way you’d get worked up heading to a concert.

Kabir Sir put us in the same class, learning the same dance, side by side. Both of us getting the same steps wrong at the same time.

We danced our hearts out. Later, we kept practising at home, as often as we could, together.

Dance to heal. That’s really all I’m trying to say.

Dear Kabir Sir,

Thank you for putting a mother and son in the same class, learning the same steps.

For a beginning we’re still in the middle of.

With deep gratitude,
Shaweta
